SwiftTest's Release 2.0 is an enhancement of the core software for both the SwiftTest 3000 and the SwiftTest 5000. Its functionality boosts overall performance, front end usability, and enables test accuracy to support your most challenging scenarios.
Featuring
- SwiftTest Events enables concurrency testing to check your system's ability to handle locking, releasing, and notifying mechanisms for multiple users across multiple protocols.
- Writing with Seeded Random Data allows SwiftTest to write TB-sized files containing random data with a known seed, so de-duplication functions can be heavily stressed, and tests can be repeated if errors occur.
- Writing with combined data types enables customers to write data with exactly the desired data combination to test de-duplication, caching, and compression.
- Reading with Data Verification validates file system implementation by ensuring that data integrity is maintained, especially under stress.
- Enhanced test execution rules and tracing enhancements provide more detailed error reporting and help pinpoint where errors occur.

SwiftTest products are 2U appliances with every port configurable as either client or fileserver, which provides ultimate flexibility in test configuration. By simulating clients accessing storage and large filesystems, you can test networked storage, storage-aware network devices, and storage services:
- SwiftTest Client simulates large numbers of clients accessing CIFS/SMB, NFS, iSCSI, and HTTP storage

Test Development Suite
The software included with the SwiftTest system includes not only the core achitecture, but a graphical interface and an automation framework. The interface, called the Test Development Environment (TDE) enables easy test configuration and includes sample tests and wizards to get you testing quickly. How would SwiftTest fit into my Storage Device testing environment?
If you're testing a storage device, you likely simulate client traffic using tens or even hundreds of servers. And the software you use to generate the load may be difficult to maintain, inflexible, and require expensive licenses and hardware. With SwiftTest, you replace or augment your servers and simulate a variety of load types at high volume by using the SwiftTest Test Development Environment to generate client traffic from one or more ports.
How would SwiftTest fit into my Storage-Aware Network Device testing lab?
SwiftTest appliances are perfect on both sides of the network, with ports configured as either client or fileserver. If you’re testing a storage-aware network device you can replace both your client systems and fileserver with a SwiftTest appliance. Simply configure some ports as client and some as server, then use the SwiftTest Test Development Environment to configure and run your tests.
